Top ten most memorable SNL charactersLIVE FROM NEW YORK, IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE! ![]() Alright, so Saturday Night Live isn't what it used to be but back in the day, it had some pretty amazing characters. These are my top 10 most memorable characters from the show. Quick description of the show (for those of you who don't know): Saturday Night Live was one of the landmark programs of the 1970s, an attempt to bring fresh, often outrageous comedy and the excitement of live TV (from New York) to late-night viewers. It featured "The Not Ready for Primetime Players," a repertory company of wacky comics who presented 90 minutes of topical satire, straight comedy, and music every Saturday night. Each week a different guest star served as host and the person around whom many of the sketches were written. 10. Martin Short (SNL cast 1984-1985) as Ed Grimley ![]() 9. But no, no Mango for you! *slaps ass*
Taco! Burrito! What's hangin' out of that Speedo?!
My fav was John Belushi and the Bees, he hated the Bee sketches..Blues Brothers were Da Bomb!!
What memories!
Eddie Murphy as Mr. Robinson (aka the black Mr. Rogers).
Damn, why did Eddie Murphy stop being funny after SNL?
too sexy! too sexy!
my favourites are Mango, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey....=)
ALEC BALDWIN AS PETE SCHWEATY IN SCHWEATY BALLS.
Yeah.
Watch that and tell me you weren't cracking up.
See, that's where it got complicated. Alec Bladwin was awesome on SNL. So was Steve Martin and Andy Kaufman BUT they weren't regular cast members of the show. They were just reoccurring guests with really kick-ass characters. If I hadn'ted based it on that, those guys would've been in my top 3!
